We’re starting off 2019 with a few changes over here, and we’re very excited about it. We’re making more room for design and creativity, and these photos seemed fitting to share as we go through our transformation. I love a challenge. Daydreaming happens often for me. Why not dream a little farther and travel outside of your comfort zone? It’s a healthy place to be and to be often. I’d had a vision of a Siren in my head for a long time. Maybe it’s because we spend so much time on these beautiful and rocky oceanside cliffs so often. I can distinctly remember sitting in a high school classroom and wondering what Odysseus heard as the Sirens were calling out to him. Isn’t it funny the things you remember? Turnagain Arm makes my mind wander artistically, no matter how often I’m there.
It’s a fact that nothing turns out exactly as you’d planned, but that’s part of the fun. The best part of this were the lessons I learned through the construction of this headpiece and how it challenged me creatively. It just so happened to be blowing about 40 mph this day, which made it all the more interesting. Somebody asked my why I wanted to do this. My answer was “because.” I hope these are inspiring and make you smile as much as they do me. Here’s to the wild of Alaska, bare feet freezing in the clay and beautiful flowers!
